Toronto – less than a month!

News by Lars Samuelsson

Hey!

We’re really getting close. Less than two weeks left to pick up your normal price tickets. After the 23rd the late late-tickets will be on sale, and we know you want to avoid that! So hurry up! Register now!

We’re super proud of our lineup this time (as usual), we feel it’s a great mix between speakers and topics that ties in to the very core of the conference, which is Social Business and IBM Connections.

Have you visited us before? Then you know you are in for a treat. If this is your first time and you are on the fence whether to attend or not. Reach out to the community, via Facebook, LinkedIn or twitter (hashtag #soccnx), ask questions and be social!

Also we urge you to download our mobile app (apple, google), in there you can also talk to other participants.

And by the way, don’t forget the gala dinner on monday night! We’re going to the Hockey Hall of Fame for a night to remember, guaranteed!

We can’t wait to go to Canada, and we sure hope to see you all there!

Last push for abstracts – we know you have it in you!

News abstracts, Speakers by Lars Samuelsson

Hi Everyone!

Now it’s time to push those last few abstracts in. We know that you have a lot on your plates, as we all do. But we’d love to hear from you at Social Connections.

What’s your take on the future of work? How has IBM Connections (on premise or Cloud) helped you and your organisation become more social and efficient? Can the watercooler be removed now that we have a virtual one? The possibilities are endless (unlike my imagination, as you might see here).

We have extended the abstract submission deadline until Thursday the 14th of April, at 2PM CET.. That’s 8PM EST for you east coasters, and probably very very early for the rest of you.

We do have a great lineup so far, big thanks for all the submitted abstracts, but we’d like to see a few more!

Maybe you are a first time speaker? No worries! This is the perfect place to get your feet wet, trust me on that one. My first speaking engagement was at Social Connection 8, and it was a great experience for me personally. Had a lot of fun and got great feedback to help out my future speaking engagements.

So come on! Get your abstracts in! Click here!

Can’t wait to see and hear from you in Toronto!

The Design Track is back by popular demand!

News Design, Tracks by Lars Samuelsson

Good news everyone!

A popular part of the Boston event is back for another run!

The design track of sessions that IBM presented at Social Connections in Boston, with the focus on the Design Thinking strategy of IBM and what comes out of it is returning!

In this track you will learn how IBM are bringing their design thinking into products like Verse and Toscana. We’ll be treated to a session on how designing IBM Verse led to the idea of “A New Way To Work” (Margo Ezekiel & Jen Heinz), how to evolve teamworking with the help of Project Toscana (Ami Dewar), and you will be asked to help out in some activities related to design thinking and IBM Design. Ethan Perry and Erika Varga will discuss how to stay oriented with design thinking, while Joe Russo and Jodi Rajaniemi are speaking on Design Thinking for Application Development.

Screen Shot 2016-04-04 at 09.38.32As I write this post,  I realise that it’s been about a year since IBM Verse was released. The design process behind IBM verse could be described as a starting point for the design thinking that we are now seeing in all ICS offerings as well as in other parts of IBM.

So why not Register now and join us for this great track that gives a good insight into the future of IBM, yes a pretty bold statement, but design can sure make a BIG difference.

We’re still here, and we’re cooking up something amazing

News by Lars Samuelsson

Hey everyone,

Sorry for our absence from most communications channels lately. It’s a bit ironic, working with social.

We are in the process of finishing up the details for our 10th event, which sure is promising to be something special.

We can’t turn double digits without doing something a little bit “out there”, right?

This blog post is just to tell all of you that we are still here, we are working as hard as we possibly can to get details out, and we hope that once we reveal it, you’ll like it as much as we do.

What we can tell you? We will be going to the eastern part of North America, we will throw an awesome gala dinner/party as usual, Maria will sort that one out, AND we will have some great people joining us for keynotes and presentations.

I hope that this blog will very very soon be followed by details. Just get your passports in order!

The soccnx team through Lars

We want you… to check out our agenda and join us for Social Connections 9!

News agenda by Lars Samuelsson

Social Connections 9Hey everyone!

After a short period of radio silence where we were getting everything in order, we’re back with an update as we now have our agenda in place. The team published it to our site last week, and you can see it for yourself on this very link!

We were delighted and honoured to receive a larger volume of abstracts than for any previous event, and the general feeling is that they were all of a really high standard – it is such a shame that we have to turn any speakers and sessions away.  However, we’re really proud of the agenda that we have pulled together – there is variety and quality in every slot!

As we try to achieve every time, we’ve got a little bit of everything for you…  From the ‘future of work’ to high-level management sessions, to the nitty-gritty fiddling with TDI settings for your perfect Connections deployment. Whilst the majority of sessions are running on our well-known 30 minute schedule, we are also continuing some of our innovations from the US event, and we have two blocks of the TED-style spotlight sessions that run for 15 minutes, as well as a number of longer, mostly very-technical sessions hitting the 60 minute mark. Come one, come all!

We’ve gone through the keynote speakers in earlier blogposts, please check back and read about them!

One thing that is new for this Social Connections is that we will hold a Connections Clinic in the sponsors area. Meet the people behind Connections, Docs and their Cloud offerings and ask them any questions you like – roadmap, deployment, customisation, adoption and more!

These two days in November are jam-packed, with an incredible 60+ sessions from some of the top names in the business, and we really want to see you be a part of it.

Register here (or via the form embedded below), and join us for 2 days of fun, socializing, extending your knowledge as well as your personal network.

As we say every time, we could not have done this without our sponsors, and we would like to extend the biggest THANK YOU to all of them for helping us put this together! If anyone is still interested in sponsoring the event, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us. Check out this page for more info.

Also, we will in a very short timeframe announce our gala dinner for this year, don’t forget that one!

Hope to see you all in Stuttgart!

/Lars, for the Social Connections team!

Three months to go!

News by Lars Samuelsson

Hello everyone,

August is here, people are returning to work and hopefully starting to think about which IBM Connections user group they are going to attend this fall/winter.

Well, since you are here, you already know the answer!

Social Connections 9 banner (JPG)

You should of course register for Social Connections 9, right now!

When Stuart posted on the organisation team’s chat yesterday that we are only three months out, I think we all woke up a bit and realized it’s time to double down, in order to guarantee you an event to remember!

Of course, there won’t be an event without all of you attending, socializing, spreading your wisdom or whatever else might be your aim for these two days in Germany. Whatever your reason is, you are more than welcome!

I know I promised to update you on keynotes and so on, we are very very close, so please be patient. We are working on something great, we have no doubt!

If you’d like to speak at the event, then please do submit an abstract before the call closes at the end of the month. We’d love to hear your ideas!

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to anyone on the team. We are always happy to help out or assist you in any way.

Also, as usual, please engage on Facebook, LinkedIn or on Twitter!

The countdown has begun, we hope to see you all in Germany!

Cheers!

Summer is here, time to plan for November!

News nine soccnx germany stuttgart by Lars Samuelsson

Hi everyone,

Greetings from the site of Social Connections VII.

The weather is about the same now as it was back in November, cold, gray and rainy. As a light in the dark, we are sure up and running towards the ninth installment of the lovely circus that is Social Connections.

Just in the last few weeks, we have issued both a call for abstract and a call for sponsors.

The abstracts have started to come in, and we already have our first sponsor lined up. Now we wanna disturb your hopefully lovely summer holiday by asking you to do the same.

Send in your abstract! We would love to hear from all of you, be it thoughts around social business, IBM Connections in particular, the cloudy parts of the IT world or anything else that comes to mind?

If you have ideas, just send them in, we’d love to hear from all of you. Beeing a first time speaker in Boston, it’s a big rush to get up there if you haven’t before. Take a chance and enjoy yourself, it’s an awesome experience.

Also, in that sense, if you are a first time speaker, and feeling a bit shy on getting up in front of people.. There isn’t a crowd in the world to be better to do it in front of, trust me.

Sponsors? As usual, we can’t do this without you. You are the backbone of this whole thing, otherwise it would just be a gang of people sitting in various parts of the world, talking about doing something. You guys have always been awesome, and those of you who decides to back us this time around as well, we’ll love you just a little bit extra much! So head over to the sponsors page and sign up!

We promise to share more details on keynotes and such in a short while, working hard on it to offer you guys something really great this time again. Stay tuned for that!

And for those of you beeing on a holiday with me just popping in, have a great vacation, and remember to check back as soon as you’re finished tanning on the beach!

Cheers

/Lars for the #soccnx team

We are sold out!

News boston, registration, soccnx by Lars Samuelsson

Sold Out!Let’s start this off with a big THANK YOU to everyone that has registered!

We can, as of today, say that we are sold out for the Social Connections 8 event in Boston. We are so psyched to see the interest in the conference and the team are working hard to put the last details in place before the event.

Also, as always, we send lots of love to our sponsors. There are more companies supporting this event than ever before, so we have been thrilled at the response. We really could not run Social Connections without you!

soccnx_presentation_graphicThe team can really feel our own excitement building up for the event, and we sure hope that you feel the same way. If you have got any questions, do reach out to us via social media or email.

The reason we are closing registrations now is due to space restrictions at the venue, we want to make sure that everyone has a seat for the sessions.

There’s not much more to say right now except, again, thank you so much, we hope to deliver a fantastic experience for you. And see you all in Boston in just a few days!
